Our History
The booming business in early Brainerd was the saloon
business. Before 1914 there were 35 in downtown Brainerd.
Every block had at least 3 or 4.
One of the best known saloons was the
"Last Turn Saloon" on the corner of 4th and
Front, for it was the last chance to stop along a long
line of liquor houses before you were again in the woods.
The spirit of the "Last Turn"
has been revived in the 70's. An effort has been made
to recreate an authentic early 1900's atmosphere.
As you look around, everything you see
has been handcrafted by local Minnesota craftsmen and
artists...from the stained glass chandeliers, to the
tables and bar. The back bar was built in 1870 from
solid oak and was the dining room buffet in the original
Pillsbury mansion in Minneapolis.
From t he pictures on the walls to the
warm atmosphere we hope you enjoy your "step into
yesterday" at the "Last Turn Saloon".
